threads

MINT™ stands for Minimally Invasive Nonsurgical Thread. It is a revolutionary injectable treatment that decreases signs of aging and restores the skin’s firmness and elasticity.

How do MINT™ PDO threads work?

MINT™ is made of polydioxanone or PDO, a safe synthetic biodegradable monofilament that stimulates collagen production as it dissolves and is NOT to be confused with MINT PDO Thread LIFT (see FAQs for more information).

Threads are placed into the skin and anchor onto soft tissue. As the threads dissolve, they promote new collagen growth to strengthen the layers of the skin for improvements in sagging, skin complexion, texture, fine lines, and elasticity.

Combining MINT™ PDO threads with other injectables and medical aesthetic treatments often amplifies the results of this procedure. Your RN injector will establish an optimal treatment plan during your initial consultation + treatment.

COST: $250 per small area. The amount of threads needed will be determined during the initial consultation appointment.

FAQs

What areas can be treated with MINT™ PDO threads?

Anywhere on the face & body lacking skin laxity such as smile lines, perioral lines, glabella, knees, and stomach.

When will I see results?

At around 6 weeks, one can expect to notice softening of lines, skin plumping, and texture improvement. At 3 months, collagen production & results peak.  On average, 1-3 sessions are needed for maximum results and depend on individual factors such as age and severity of the area(s) being treated.

How long do results last?

PDO threads are typically absorbed by the body in about 6-8 months, however, since threads stimulate collagen production, results are long term continue to improve for up to a year.

What is the difference between threads and filler?

Threads are used to promote collagen production and rejuvenation, while fillers are used for deep lines and creating volume.

What is the difference between MINT™ PDO Threads and PDO Thread Lift?

The threads offered at Angel Aesthetics (MINT™ PDO Threads) are inserted in specific areas of the face and/or body to target localized collagen production. PDO lifting threads (NOT available at Angel Aesthetics), are injected into the skin and pulled to lift and reposition the sagging skin & underlying tissues.

What is the downtime?

Bruising, redness, mild swelling, and soreness can be expected for a few days post-treatment.

Is it painful?

Local anesthetic is utilized, and threads are inserted using a special thin needle to help minimize discomfort.
